About Collier & Associates
Collier & Associates, Inc. publishes the bi-weekly C&A Doctors’ Newsletter which has served tens of thousands of subscribers by offering cutting edge advice on tax savings, investing, insurance, practice management, practice transitions and much more. Through our law practice, Collier & Associates Co., L.P.A., we assist doctors nationwide with all aspects of practice transitions, including appraisals, associate employment agreements, partnership agreements, and outright sale transactions. Brandon Collier lectures extensively on these subjects to doctors and students at C&A’s own tax-deductible continuing education seminars and as a featured guest speaker at national, regional, state and local dental meetings.
In addition, we prepare qualified retirement plans (profit sharing, 401(k), cash balance) to hundreds of practices around the country. Our plans are designed to maximize the doctors’ benefits with a wide array of investment options while keeping administration expenses low. We monitor and update these plans continually.
For over half a century we have been, and continue to be, proud of our work as the trusted advisors to thousands of doctors in every state across the nation.
Our Story
The company was founded by Harvey Sarner in 1971. Harvey began his career with the American Dental Association in 1961, and left in 1971 to begin his own law practice. While at the ADA, he served as associate counsel, was instrumental in acquiring the current headquarters building, advised many of its councils, developed the members retirement program and negotiated many of its member insurance programs. When Harvey retired in 1987, he was made an honorary member of the ADA.
Richard Collier took over the practice in 1987 following a 19-year career in a private practice law firm primarily representing doctors. Richard expanded the firm's seminar business and developed close personal friendships with hundreds of his clients throughout the country. They valued him for his kindness, intellect, and larger-than-life personality. Richard served on numerous boards of national dental organizations and dental schools.
Brandon Collier joined his father's firm in 2001 after practicing for five years in a traditional law firm. With the close guidance and mentorship of his father, Brandon began lecturing nationwide, and upon the unfortunate death of Richard Collier, he took over the practice in 2007. Since then, he has been operating the practice and continuing our longstanding tradition of providing expert and trusted advice to doctors and expanding the firm's lines of business.
